Japanese Lessons: Rates

Don’t worry. COMM Language’s rates for Japanese lessons are the lowest of any major language school in Hiroshima!

Prices for regular Japanese lessons during normal business hours are as follows:

Private Lessons ¥2,400 « our most popular class!
2-Person Group ¥1,700/person
3-Person Group ¥1,500/person
4-Person Group ¥1,300/person
Corporate Lessons ¥3500 plus Transportation (if required)

All lessons are 50 minutes long. Lessons that take place outside of regular business hours (lessons starting from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday through Saturday) will incur a ¥500 surcharge. « top

Japanese Lessons: Special Courses

Although most of our students enjoy studying on a fairly informal basis, we have received some requests lately for more classes that are “courses” - i.e., with a long-term structure and goal. Therefore, we are pleased to announce several new classes. Please have a look at the chart below for details.

Japanese Proficiency Test Level 4 (lowest) Introduces basic vocabulary (800 words), kanji (100),
grammar and sentence structures.

Twice a week for 6 months; approximately 48 lessons.
Japanese Proficiency Test Level 3 Builds on Level 4 knowledge. Introduces 200 more kanji,
another 700 words, intermediate sentence structure and grammar.

JPT Level 4

or equivalent.

Twice a week for 6 months; approximately 48 lessons.
Japanese Proficiency Test Level 2 Builds on Level 3 knowledge. Introduces 700 more kanji,
another 4500 words, complex sentence structures and grammar.

JPT Level 3or equivalent.

Three times a week for 8 months; approximately 96 lessons.
Japanese Proficiency Test Level 1 (highest) Builds on Level 2 knowledge. Introduces 1000 more kanji,
another 4000 words, very complex sentence structure and grammar.

JPT Level 2
or equivalent.

Twice a week for 8 months; approximately 64 lessons.
Survival Japanese Emphasis on spoken language. Introduces expressions needed
for everyday life. Greetings, farewells, basic sentence patterns, questions
and answers, what to say at restaurants, etc.

None.

Twice a week for 6 months; approximately 48 lessons.
Business Japanese A fairly high-level course for business people. Emphasis
on proper business expressions, respect language, protocol, etc.Uses Japanese for Professionals textbook.

A minimum of JPT Level 3.
Higher is recommended.

Depends on the individual student’s starting level, aptitude
and needs. Generally requires approximately 60 hours of study. Scheduling
is flexible to accommodate business trips, etc.

Notes:

  1. In the absence of documentation, the student’s current level will be assessed by the instructor. The instructor’s decision is final.
  2. All courses except for Business Japanese are taught at COMM’s usual rate of ¥2,400 per lesson. Business Japanese is ¥3,500 per lesson. Transportation costs (if taking lessons outside of COMM) are extra. « top

Other Languages

Why not? While we don’t have an ongoing program, COMM’s extensive network of teachers includes native speakers of Korean, Chinese and Thai, as well as French, Spanish and many other European languages.
